The Gobius Technology (TM and PATENT)

Gobius is based on the innovative system best described as " knock and listen" which makes it possible to accurately measure the contents of all tanks, no matter what size and shape, even if the the tanks are not clean.

Every sensor that is placed on to the tank wall consists of a shaker and an accelerometer. When the shaker creates a vibriation in the tank wall the accelerometer measures the size of the vibration and passes the data on to the control unit.

The control unit then calculates if the fluid level has passed the particular sensor or not.

Measures from the outside of the tank and is extremely easy to install.

No need to drill unnecessary holes

Never comes in to direct contact with the contents of the tank.

Suitable for water and diesel tanks in steel, stainless steel, aluminium and plastic, no matter what size or shape.

Suitable for the following wall thicknesses:

Plastic (polyethylene), 2-12 mm

Stainless steel, 1-3 mm

Steel, 1-3 mm

Fibre glass, 4-8 mm (no sandwich constructions) Aluminum, 2-5 mm

Can connect to displays from Wema, VDO and Faria, supports NMEA 2000.

Low electricity consumption - less than 40mA (12 to 24 volts)

Gobius avoids the need of to take the tank apart and drill unnecessary holes.

On the sensors there are strips of tape that are provided to attach the sensors directly onto the surface of your tank. The panel may be placed in the kitchenenette or on the control panel. All necessary cables and plugs needed to connect the sensors and panel with the control unit are included.

Very easy to calibrate

No tanks look the same. There are always differences in e.g. size, construction, thickness and age. In order to compensate for these differences you have to calibrate the tank before you start to use your Gobius. However, the calibration only takes a few seconds, all you need to do is to press a button while the tank is full.

Extremely low electricity consumption, less than 40 mA

Gobius is constructed to minimise electricity consumption and is extremely efficient. Gobius sends power to its sensors in impulses instead of a continuous supply, thus saving your craft’s battery.
